Train More People with Greater Flexibility

An authorized provider is an organization that has an American Red Cross trained instructor as an employee or volunteer.  As an authorized provider, you can build your own training team to teach courses to other employees or members of your organization wherever and whenever you want.  It is a cost effective way to offer first aid, CPR, automated external defibrillation (AED) and other health and safety training programs.
Becoming an Authorized Provider

The first step in becoming an authorized provider is to identify a person to serve as the instructor for your organization.  Once your organization knows who is going to get trained as a Red Cross instructor, you can enroll them in the next instructor course.  The Red Cross offers instructor courses in:
  • First Aid/CPR/AED for the Lay Responder
  • First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Lifeguarding and Water Safety
  • Babysitter's Training
  • Wilderness First Aid and more!
To enroll in an instructor course, simply visit http://www.redcross.org/takeaclass.  Please note that many instructor courses have prerequisites to register for the course.  For example, to register for the First Aid/CPR/AED for the Lay Responder program, your instructor candidate needs to have a current certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.

Submit an Authorized Provider Application

After your instructor candidate successfully completes the instructor training program, you will need to submit an authorized provider application.  The application process is an easy online application.  Once submitted, a Red Cross account manager will contact you to finalize the authorized provider agreement between your organization and the American Red Cross.
