In the spirit of the Holiday Season, the American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys and dozens of volunteers are working extra hard to make sure that U.S. service men and women serving overseas and on the battlefront in Iraq and Afghanistan  will see some holiday cheer.

On Dec. 12, volunteers packed into the Wings Over Miami Aviation Museum at the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport to stuff more than 200 holiday stockings that will be mailed directly to soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and coast guardsmen from South Florida.

The American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces "Stockings for the Troops" program provided our brave men and women with some of the comforts of home including .mp3 players, long distance phone cards, book lights and hygiene kits.

But you, too, can still get involved. You can sponsor a stocking for $10, or if you know a service man or woman from South Florida that could use a pick-me-up, send us their name and military address.
